Rules and RegulationsSMOKE DETECTORWhile we supply each suite with a smoke detector, it is the residents responsibility to make sure it is working properly. Please contact our leasing office immediately if your detector is not working.PARKINGAll cars must be pulled straight into the parking space. In order to prevent fumes from entering the apartments through the windows, vehicles are not permitted to be backed into their spaces. Residents must park in the area that is assigned to them at the commencement of their lease. Residents with two cars must park one in the main parking lot.GUEST PARKINGGuests may park on the street during the day. Overnight guests must park in the guest parking area of the main parking lot. Failure to do so will result in their vehicle being towed.TOWINGAll residents must place a registered parking sticker on their windshield. Towing can occur at anytime or any day. Please refer to your parking rules. Aberdeen Commons has no control over towing.RUBBISHPlease place all garbage and rubbish in plastic bags. Bags should be securely tied and placed in the garbage cans. Townhouse residents may put their plastic bags on the back patio on pick-up days (Monday, Wednesday & Friday).RULES OF CONDUCTBicycling, skate boarding, roller skating, rollerblading and playing in the parking lots is not permitted. In addition, Residents are not permitted to play in the halls or basements, ride their bikes on the grass, climb trees or play ball on the common areas. Morton Park is adjacent to Aberdeen Commons and is readily accessible for sports.PARTIES; MUSIC; NOISEPlease be considerate of your neighbors. The level of noise from music and parties must be kept at a reasonable level. Residents who are disturbed by excessive noise may call the Fairview Park police. Persistent reports of excessive noise are grounds for eviction.PETSAberdeen Commons does not permit pets or pet sitting. Please read your lease for clarification. Small birds (parakeets) and fish are permitted.DISPOSALSThe following should never be placed in the garbage disposal: cabbage, spinach, celery, flower or plant stems, banana peels, onions, egg shells or other items which might cause a clog.DRAINSDo not pour oil, grease or melted butter or margarine down the drains.PLUMBINGDo not flush tampons or sanitary products down the toilets.LAUNDRY ROOMPlease do your part to keep this area clean for yourself and other residents. Remove clothes promptly when finished and clean the lint filter. Please do not use the laundry room before 8:00 a.m. and after 10:00 p.m.SECURITYPlease be careful not to breach the security of our buildings. Never allow solicitors inside the building. In addition, do not prop open any doors.GRASS; SIDEWALKSOur maintenance staff works hard to keep up the appearance of Aberdeen Commons. Please walk on the sidewalks - not the grass.INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE INTERCOMPress down the "on" button at all times when you are talking with a visitor outside the apartment building. If you release the button when your visitor is talking, you will be unable to hear them. Press the "door" button to allow your visitor to enter the building.DISPOSAL OF MOVING BOXESPlease flatten all moving boxes and dispose of them at the dumpster located in our maintenance garage (located opposite the back door of the leasing office). The maintenance garage is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. |
